Yay Recs

I'm still reading through Yuletide stories, so I'll probably do another recs post at some point, but for now, these are what I've gotten so far, plus my Riftwar Saga story which I already recced.

The One Where Matt Farrell Is Most Certainly Not Sleeping With John McClane (not even a little) (3132 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: Live Free or Die Hard (2007)
Rating: Mature
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Matt Farrell/John McClane
Characters: Frederick "Warlock" Kaludis, Lucy McClane, Miguel Bowman
Summary:

“Life is not a wet dream, Frederick. It’s not even a B movie. Guys like McClane don’t fuck guys like me. Ever.”

Funny, hot, and with a little Die Hardy action. I kind of loved Warlock in this.

The Roommate of +10 Confusion (3241 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: FoxTrot, Calvin & Hobbes
Rating: General Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Jason Fox, Calvin (Calvin and Hobbes), Hobbes (Calvin and Hobbes)
Summary:

There must be some scientifically sound way for Jason Fox to be able to quantify his new college roommate, but he hasn't found one yet that fits. Especially when he factors in the stuffed tiger.

Adorable crossover where Jason and Calvin room together. There's Quincy, and Hobbes, and Calvin being philosophical but deeply boyish and Jason trying to make comparative tables, and it's just ridiculously cute.

For life's not a paragraph (5968 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: The History Boys
Rating: Mature
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Scripps/Posner
Characters: Donald Scripps, David Posner, Stuart Dakin
Summary:

In the dying world I come from, quotation is a national vice. (Waugh)

Posner and Scripps, running away together. Sort of. This is a beautiful Scripps POV, and a poignant, bittersweet take on life after Hector. A gorgeous read.

The Kind That Talk The Loudest (4618 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: The Fast and the Furious
Rating: Explicit
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Dom/Brian
Characters: Dom Toretto, Brian O'Connor
Summary:

Set post-Fast and Furious, Dom, Brian and Mia try and carve a new life out for themselves on the right side of the law. Brian and Dom deal with the shift in their relationship.

The Fast the the Furious franchise are kind of a guilty pleasure for me. Shiny cars! Hot guys! Dom/Letty and Dom/Brian are my pairings of choice (I have a soft spot for Vin Diesel. It's the voice, I can't help it. It's hot.) and this is awesomely hot post-movie Dom/Brian that's completely believable and hot as hell.

OMG! This reads like an episode of the Muppet Show, and is HILARIOUS and fabulous and the character match ups are sheer joy and the chaos and the little details. . . I was seriously Kermit flailing, and EVERYONE who likes Muppets should read this.

One Day Like This (3220 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: A Single Man (2009)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: George Falconer, Jim (A Single Man)
Summary:

One day like this a year'd see me right. Pre-movie. One day in the life of George and Jim.

This was a beautiful little slice-of-life story that left me achey in an awesome way. The language is perfectly fitting to the narration of the movie, and the details scattered through ring so very, very true.

An Edward POV of a Will/Edward flirtation that's pretty much sponsored by Joan of Kent, who is AWESOME in this. Funny and a bit adorable.

Knighthood and fealty mean more than just being a boy playing with a stick.
